This is definitively a special Port Wine. The 2007 Vintage Port declaration has received a lot of attention not only from Port enthusiasts, but also from media and retailers. In the last weeks we made a special tasting of our Vintage 2007 in Denmark for the Port-aficionado clients of our distributor in the country. During the tasting I could explain a little bit of what makes 2007 probably the best Vintage of this decade, so far. The Port and Douro Wines Institute – IVDP has also been busy promoting and organized a couple of tasting in Portugal (together with Essência do Vinho) and in Brazil.
Next February 12th many producers will fly to Germany to show up in other tasting co organized by the IVDP and by the World of Port, which is run by Axel Probst, other Port lover.
That said, If you live in Germany and specially near by Leverkusen, do not miss this chance to taste many Vintages from the so special harvest of 2007. I will be there for a toast and for a lot of fun!

Este é sem dúvida um Vinho do Porto especial. A declaração de Porto Vintage 2007 tem recebido muita atenção não só dos entusiastas de Vinho do Porto, mas também da comunicação social e do retalho. Nas últimas semanas fizemos uma prova especial do nosso Vintage 2007 na Dinamarca para os apreciadores de Vinho do Porto clientes do nosso distribuidor. Durante a prova pude explicar algumas das razões que eu acho que estão por trás de tão grande colheita e que fazem desta provavelmente a melhor da década, pelo menos para já. O Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e Porto – IVDP também tem estado ocupado com o 2007, tendo promovido uma prova em Portugal (conjuntamente com a Essência do Vinho) e no Brasil (veja uma reportagem da prova no blog qvinho).
Dia 12 de Fevereiro de 2010 muitos produtores irão até à Alemanha para mostrar os seus vinhos, numa prova co-organizada pelo IVDP e pelo World of Port, que é dirigido pelo Axel Probst, outro apaixonado por Vinho do Porto.
Assim sendo, se vive na Alemanha e especialmente se se encontra perto de Leverkusen, não perca esta oportunidade de provar muitos Vintages desta distinta colheita de 2007. Eu lá estarei pronto para um brinde!
