Winemaking Details
Viticulture:
In 2024, the Douro Valley saw a balanced growing season, with a cool, wet winter replenishing water reserves and a mild spring ensuring even budburst. Summer brought steady warmth and low disease pressure, supporting gradual ripening. A late heat spike was managed through careful canopy work, resulting in healthy, concentrated fruit of exceptional quality. Overall, 2024 promises elegant, structured wines with vibrant acidity and refined tannins.
Fermentation:
We hand-pick the grapes at peak ripeness, then cool them slightly before a gentle crush. Fermentation runs in stainless steel tanks at 28°C. Daily pump-overs help me extract just the right amount of structure.
Aging:
65% aged in 500L French oak barrels for 12 months and and 35% in stainless steel tanks.
