Winemaking Details
Viticulture:
2024 brought a balanced growing season to the Douro Valley. A cool, wet winter replenished water reserves, followed by a mild spring that encouraged even budburst. Summer remained warm with low disease pressure. A short heatwave in late July was managed through careful canopy work. Our vineyards produced healthy, concentrated fruit. White grape harvest began in early September.
Fermentation:
Rabigato, Arinto, and Gouveio were hand-harvested at ideal ripeness, chilled to 8–10°C, and gently pressed. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 15°C using native yeasts. Lees contact with regular bâtonnage enhanced texture. Fermentation lasted 20 days.
Aging:
Aged for 6 months in stainless steel with frequent bâtonnage for 4 months before bottling.
