Claudia’s Reserve is a careful selection from the grapes of our best Quintas. We do not follow a recipe, the composition will vary from year to year as we express what nature gives us.
Straw green with golden nuances
Intense and complex, shows the white fruit, mineral and sweet notes of wood.
On the palate has a full body but well turned by the acidity that gives it great vivacity.
Aloirado, tons esverdeados. Surge o vinagrinho, a tintura de iodo, alguma casca de laranja e muita avelã. Elegante e equilibrado, fino e de acidez que lhe garante vivacidade, termina profundo e guerreiro. Mostra as rugas do tempo sem preconceito.
It has a bit more depth than the regular white, but it is very graceful nonetheless. The wood makes a big difference in texture and power, though. The flavor impact of the wood is well controlled (although it mutes the fruit a bit). A little disjointed in its youth, this still is impressive on many fronts. The big,tight, gripping finish is merely one of them. Underneath, some acidity is there too. It’s admittedly a little about projection just now, but this looks like it will settle down beautifully in a few months. It should hold nicely for several years more, at least. June 2018.

The summer of 2017 was very warm and dry and we needed to start the harvest earlier than the past years. We started at 21st of August and we had smaller berries of the grapes the vine produced but this berries was very aromatics and flavorful. Grapes were hand picked. Gently crusted and fermented in French oak barrels, were aged 6 months on fine lees.
