The 2020 Oscar’s Rosé is all Touriga Nacional, very dry and coming in at 13.9% alcohol. With that classic pale salmon color, excellent balance and overall refinement, this seems very distinguished at a nice price. It has plenty of fruit, but the freshness and the balance are what make this work. It is a classic pink for a food and wine pairing, but it is balanced enough to drink well on its own too. Overall, this is lovely. It could use a bit more energy, but in this food-wine style, that’s not an issue. It might hold a few years, although that’s not the point. June 2021.

Viticulture:
The year of 2020 was considered an year dry. The rain that felt in the spring brought a lot of diseases to the vines, therefore, the winegrowers had more work and care in the treatment of the vineyards. Despite these problems, the quality and quantity of grapes was very good, with great level of sugar, acidity and aromas. We hand picked these grapes in the beginning of September.

Fermentation:
Grapes were gently crushed and fermented in stainless steel tank between 15ºC – 18ºC. After fermentation, we aged it for 4 months on fine lees with batonnage.

Winemaker:
Teresa Batista
