Winemaking Details
Viticulture:
The 2024 growing season in the Douro began with a cool, wet winter and a mild spring, ensuring even budburst and healthy vine development. Summer was warm and stable, with a brief heat spike in late July mitigated by careful canopy management. Our vineyards produced healthy, concentrated fruit with excellent balance. Tinta Amarela was harvested early, on August 20th, to preserve freshness.
Fermentation:
Handpicked with low potential alcohol and high acidity, the grapes were partially destemmed and gently crushed. Fermentation took place in stainless steel at 18°C with native yeasts to highlight Tinta Amarela’s bright aromatics. Minimal pump-overs preserved finesse, and malolactic fermentation was completed.
Aging:
Aged in stainless steel to maintain freshness and pure fruit character.
