Our Vineyards
QUINTA DA ALEGRIA
Quinta da Alegria (‘Alegria’ means Happiness in Portuguese) is one of the very few vineyards in the Douro with a railroad station in the middle of the property.
The railroad, which connects Porto to Pocinho, divides the cultures planted: vines above the railroad, and orange, tangerine, and lemon trees below, lining the riverfront for 720 meters.
Located in the upper part of the Cima Corgo
Alegria’s first plantation dates back to the beginning of the last century, but in the ‘80s this Quinta was replanted with new vines.
16 ha ( total property has 28 ha)
2.5 ha of Tinta Amarela, 3 ha of Alicante Bouschet, 4 ha of Touriga Nacional, 3.7 ha of Touriga Franca, and 2.8 ha of old vines field blend.

Mostly schist with a growing influence of granite as we move upwards.

QUINTA DA TROVISCA
Trovisca is our biggest vineyard and our favorite experimental field. All winemakers like to have a place where they can test new varieties or viticulture processes and this is ours.
Located in São João da Pesqueira
Initially partially replanted in 2000, and again almost every other year since then.
The 29.5 ha of vines planted at Trovisca are all divided by grape variety. Since 2012 we grow some of the parcel under organic farming, a total of currently 12.1 ha.
On the lower part of the vineyards we have Tinta Roriz (1.4 ha), Touriga Franca (3.31 ha), Touriga Nacional (1.61 ha), Sousão (1.02 ha) and Syrah (0.8 ha). At the top of the property we have four white varieties: Rabigato (4.49 ha), Folgasão (2.2 ha), Gouveio (4.45 ha) and Viosinho (0.8 ha).
Varies from the 498 meters (where the Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca are planted) up to the 602 meters (where the white varieties are planted).

- White grapes of Viosinho, Rabigato, and Gouveio used for Oscar’s white and Quevedo White Port
- Red grapes are used to refresh and balance our Vintage Ports and LBVs. They are also the main source for Oscar’s red.
QUINTA DA VALEIRA
Valeira has certainly one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the Douro.
Located right where the Cima Corgo finishes and the Douro Superior starts.
Vines were planted in 2006, and vineyard was acquired in 2014.
9,68 ha (of the 27 ha property)
4.85 ha of Touriga Nacional (representing 53% of the total planted area), 2,12 ha of Touriga Francesa (23%), 1,12 ha of Tinta Francisca (12%), and 1,1 ha of Sousão (12%).
Located between 428 and 495 meters altitude, this well-ventilated location is protected from the highest temperatures that sometimes are felt in the valley.

The Touriga Franca and Sousão bring complexity and intensity to our LBV, complemented with the freshness from Tinta Francisca. The Touriga Nacional is used for our Douro red wines.
QUINTA SENHORA DO ROSÁRIO
This vineyard is the oldest of the Quevedo’s properties, and where the cellar can be found. It owes its name to the chapel of Lady of the Rosary (Senhora do Rosário), located next to the property.
In the upper part of the Cima-Corgo region.

4.41 ha of Tinta Barroca (representing 35.97% of the total planted area), 2.6 ha of Alicante Bouschet (21.21%), 1.6 ha of Arinto (13.05%), 1.29 of Rabigato (10.52%), 0.9 of Gouveio (7.34%), 0.73 ha of Tinta Miúda (5.95%), 0.73 ha of Moscatel (5.95%).

The higher altitude of this vineyard help the temperatures to never reach levels too high, which translates into grapes with higher acidity levels and makes elegant and fresh wines, the base for our aged Tawnies.
Quinta Vale d'Agodinho
Bought with no more than several almond trees, this property is today the backbone for our top wines and Ports.

13.85 ha are old vines with mixed grape varieties (representing 76.52% of the total planted area), 1.41 ha of Touriga Nacional (7.79%), 1.36 ha of Tinto Cão (7,51%), 1.1 ha of Touriga Francesa (6.08%), 0.38 ha of Tinta Barroca (2.10%).

In some years, when the grapes reach perfect maturation, a considerable percentage of the grapes harvested go into the production of Vintage Port, which can be bottled as Single Quinta Vintage Port or used in the blend of our Quevedo Vintage Port, depending from year to year. Our LBV has consistently a generous percentage of grapes from Agodinho. Grapes from our Claudia’s Douro red wine are also coming from Agodinho.
