White Colheita
The 1986 White Colheita is one of those rare gems that reminds us why we love Port. After decades aging in a portuguese chesnut tree cask, it has developed a breathtaking complexity without losing the vibrant acidity that keeps it alive and kicking.
TASTING NOTES
Colour
Deep gold
AROMA
Punchy and incredibly aromatic. It leads with intense notes of orange marmalade, candied peel, and quince. As it breathes, layers of honey and rich caramel emerge, followed by a sophisticated nutty finish of toasted hazelnuts and praline
PALATE
Rich and complex, with a pronounced unctuous texture and full palate weight. The sweetness is balanced by a remarkably firm and precise acidity, bringing freshness and leading to a very long, clean, and persistent finish.

Winemaking Details
Viticulture:
A long, dry summer in 1986 limited vine vigour and encouraged a slow, progressive development of the grapes. Water scarcity throughout the season resulted in smaller berries with natural concentration. Rainfall from mid-September onwards helped rebalance the vines in the final stage of the growing cycle.
Fermentation:
Fermented in traditional granite lagares with foot treading.
Aging:
Wine from a single harvest, aged for four decades in a 550l chestnut wood cask, allowing for gradual and controlled oxidative ageing.
Winemaker:
Cláudia Quevedo.
FOOD PAIRING
Citrus-based desserts, traditional sweets, aged hard cheeses (especially sheep), or enjoyed on its own as a contemplative wine.
