Oscar’s Red 2019
87/100
Mark Squires
The 2019 Oscar’s Tinto is a blend of 45% Touriga Franca, 42% Touriga Nacional and 13% Tinta Roriz, unoaked and coming in at 13.3% alcohol. There is now also an organic version of this (also reviewed), but it is hardly the same wine. This has a different blend and is far lower in alcohol. This is also nicely done in its summer-red style. While there is not much depth or power, it has purity of fruit and a fresh feel with silky texture. It’s a pleasure to drink. I’d only add that it is probably best drunk very young, no matter how long it theoretically lasts, to preserve its freshness. June 2021.
