The design of the labels for our TRUQUES range, Douro D.O.C. wines, has been awarded the Graphis Gold Award – Packaging 11, one of the most recognized international awards in design.
This range is made up of three wines, each with its own distinct personality. The inspiration comes from the world of circus and magic — not in a literal way, but as a language: surprise, movement, and a certain sense of humor.
The white plays with the idea of illusion — fresh, vibrant, with a feeling of discovery in every sip. The rosé is lighter and more balanced, almost suspended. The red is more intense, with a bolder edge.
Visually, all three share a common foundation inspired by vintage circus posters, with strong compositions and expressive typography. These are labels designed to stand out, but above all to make sense with the wine they represent.
The project was developed in collaboration with Pedro Vareta Studio and Henri Sizaret. It was a close process, with constant exchanges of ideas, testing, and adjustments until we reached a result that truly reflected the brand.
This recognition from Graphis validates our desire to do things differently — to experiment and to create something that stands out.
A big thank you to Pedro Vareta and Henri Sizaret for all their work and dedication.
And if you haven’t tried this range yet, here’s your invitation.
